Josh Koons

Josh KoonsJosh Koons is a registered landscape architect with experience in sustainable design, master planning, and site development for institutional, governmental and private clients.

As project manager, Josh employs his interdisciplinary knowledge of environmental planning and design, civil engineering, stormwater management, and construction to provide holistic design solutions.  He oversees project and design development, construction documents and construction phase services.

Representative past projects include:

  • Landscape Master Plan for Georgia Institute of Technology.
  •  Augusta Canal Headgates National Historic Park.
  • Oconee River Greenway, Athens, Georgia.
  • Multi-family Collegiate Communities for the private sector.
  • Multi-family and Mixed Use Housing in Celebration, Florida
  • Resource Conservation at the Renmark World Bisophere Reserve in South Australia


Josh’s professional skills are complemented by his field experience, and ability to form productive working relationships with clients and contractors for effective implementation of projects.

In 2004, Josh was the co-founder of Partner for People and Place, a non-profit organization that provides sustainable design to humanitarian projects (www.peopleandplace.org). He is currently conducting a project in Terrier Rouge, Haiti, employing sustainable design techniques in the preparation of a regional development plan.

Josh also serves as a guest instructor in the University of Georgia’s School of Environmental Design where he teaches in the areas of computer aided design, community planning, site engineering, and construction materials.
